Steel-to-concrete connections: fast compensation of unevenness
DIAMANT provides the construction industry with a specially developed casting polymer for the rapid compensation of unevenness, especially for steel-to-concrete connections. The extremely flowable and fast curing epoxy resin system “EP-Flow” closes gaps and cavities completely force-fit and form-fit.
The casting compound, which is applied from a layer thickness of 10 millimetres, is used as an intermediate layer between steel and concrete elements as well as between concrete elements.
Thanks to its optimum viscosity, the material can be filled very well into both large and small cavities and is self-levelling after placement. Its high stability ensures absolute dimensional stability even under changing environmental conditions, such as fluctuating temperatures and humidity. The casting compound also offers high compressive strength as well as resistance to weathering and corrosion.
Compared to mineral casting systems, the plastic-based material hardens very quickly and exhibits high strength after just 60 minutes.
With these properties, EP-Flow opens up numerous areas of application, including concrete and steel hydraulic engineering. Typical applications include casting work on steel and concrete columns, rail systems, sluice gates, reinforcements, castings for support bearings as well as steel and wind turbine towers.
