New “plug-and-play” application system for steel construction:
Fast, form and force-locking gap compensation from the gun
Fully hardened 100% gap compensation within shortest time, with maximum process reliability and easy handling. This is promised by the new cartridge application system MM1018 Smart from the German polymer and coating specialist Diamant Metallplastic. The two-component metal polymer developed for steel and reinforced concrete construction is available as a ready-to-use plug-and-play system for on-site rapid deployment and in two hardening variants.
The application MM1018 Smart consists of two separate cartridges, which open into a common static mixing coil. In the optimum mixing ratio, one cartridge contains the epoxy resin, the other contains the hardener of the MM1018 two-component reaction resin system. By actuating the trigger on the cartridge holder, the two substances in the mixing spiral are optimally mixed and discharged ready for use.
The automatic dosing system reliably eliminates mixing errors and thus offers the inexperienced user maximum process reliability. In addition, the “closed” system protects from possible skin contact with the material and thus significantly contributes to occupational safety.
The cartridge system MM1018 Smart is available as a stand or handheld version and in two curing versions. The basic version MM1018 Smart L is usually hardened at plus 20 degrees Celsius within 24 hours. For applications requiring extremely short curing time, the MM1018 Smart S variant is available. It cures completely even after a few hours, even at low temperatures.
With these properties, the new application system serves as a quick-to-use, mobile “precision weapon” for 100% gap compensation. It now complements the proven MM1018 product range of Diamant Metallplastic.
In one operation, MM1018 provides 100 percent positive form- and force-locking gap compensation without mechanical processing and without the need for additional wedge plates or lining plates.
It is mainly used in steel and bridge construction – for example on bearing seats, flange connections, head plates, transom and diagonal connections.
