DIAMANT’s polymer system MM1018 – also known as “Liquid stiffener” (registered brand name) – for one hundred percent force-fit and form-fit gap compensation is the only one of its kind to date with building authority approval from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). The material is also recognised by the German association VHFL and waterway authorities (WSV), among others, and is mentioned in installation regulations.
The two-component reaction resin system, which is highly enriched with special metallic substances, can be applied on-site. It can be plastered or injected in paste or liquid form. In a single step, it provides absolutely form-fit and force-fit gap compensation – without mechanical processing and without the need for additional wedge plates or conventional stiffeners. This saves time and personnel costs considerably compared to conventional methods of gap compensation – with greater flexibility, sustainability and cost-effectiveness. Crane refurbishment and construction
DIAMANT MM1018 is considered to be the technically sensible and economical method in crane construction and refurbishment, especially when attaching new crane tracks to existing girder systems. Here, the liquid stiffener reliably compensates for any height differences between the foundation and the new/refurbished rail surface. The polymer-bound material makes force-fit tolerance compensation up to a thickness of 10 millimetres possible (with general building approval from the German Institute for Building Technology) without dismantling any structures. It can be applied subsequently or preventively. Moreover, it is extremely resistant to external influences.
The MM1018 is a two-component reaction resin system with a high level of special metallic filler substances. The material can be applied as a paste or as a liquid, either by filling or injection.
Steel construction and structural engineering
MM1018 from DIAMANT is an on-site applicable polymer system which ensures one hundred percent force-fit and full-surface gap compensation in steel construction and structural steel engineering- for example on bearing seats, flange connections, head plates, waling connectors, diagonal connectors or bearings.
It is the only metal polymer to date with general building authority approval (DIBt) and, with well over 1,000 applications worldwide, it is well established in the metal industry.
Even under extreme conditions, such as vibrations or temperature fluctuations from -40 °C to +90 °C, the polymer retains its high compressive strength.
Hydraulic steel engineering
The “Liquid stiffener” MM1018 from DIAMANT convinces with excellent references also in worldwide hydraulic steel construction, lock construction as well as water traffic construction and in offshore wind turbines. Here, both for new builds and especially for refurbishments.
In the maritime sector, the metal polymer also scores with its seawater resistance. The low creep coefficient and the weather and corrosion resistance are further properties of the durable material that are decisive for such areas of application.
